Today, at the California Streaming event, Apple launched the new Apple Watch Series 7. This time, Apple has revamped the Apple Watch’s physical design but its internal hardware remains relatively untouched.

Following its long-standing tradition, Apple launched the Apple Watch Series 7 alongside the iPhone 13 at its September event. Read on to find out everything that is new with this wearable.

Right off the bat, the Apple Watch Series 7 sports a distinctly new design that complements the iPhone 13 nicely. While the overall shape remains the same, the watch is now more curved. Additionally, the display is a tad bit larger (by 20 percent) on the new watch and is surrounded by smaller bezels, with a 70 percent brighter panel. It can also fit more text than the Series 6.

The new display isn’t a whole lot bigger but the smaller bezels promise to give the Apple Watch Series 7 a more modern look. Apple has also thrown in some new watch faces for good measure.

To the list of features, Apple has added these new ones:

  • Support for group workouts on Apple Fitness+
  • IPX6 certification
  • WR50 water resistance
  • New bands and special editions with Hermes, Nike
  • Modular face with Apple Health data
  • Same all-day battery life
  • 36 percent faster charging
  • Crack-resistant display
  • Redesigned buttons

Just like Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman predicted, the Apple Watch Series 7 doesn’t sport new sensors. In fact, Apple has added a few new features that make use of the sensors that have been carried over from the Apple Watch Series 6. The new health-related features on the Apple Watch Series 7 are:

  • Accurate calorie calculation for cycling, with support for e-bikes
  • Golf, tennis serve distance and speed measurement
  • ECG measurement anywhere
  • Waves surfed in the ocean
  • Blood oxygen level measurement
  • Pilates and Tai Chi workouts

The new health-related features will be a part of watchOS 8.
