Microsoft has released a new Office app for iPhone. After beta testing for a while, the app is now generally available. This time around Microsoft has combined Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a single app.

As expected the Office app for iPhone is small in size and it is always convenient to download a single app. However, the standalone versions of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint are still available. The app comes bundled with Actions menu that offers features like scanning QR codes and signing PDF. Furthermore, the updated app also features camera integration that lets you convert photos of documents into Spreadsheets or Word files.

Thanks to the unified app you no longer have to switch between different apps while using documents. Microsoft claims that the new app is designed with simplicity in mind. It is for this reason that Microsoft has added new features that will help make using Office on iPhones much easier. The new Office app for iPhone is available for download on the App Store.

Let us take a closer look at all the new features. The new app lets you speak and the same is turned into words. Once done you can proofread and add essentials like punctuations. This feature is very useful since typing lengthy stuff on smartphones is not exactly convenient. The unified app offers Card view in Excel, a mobile-friendly feature that minimizes scrolling across columns and is optimized for mobile screen. A newly added feature to Powerpoint generates an outline and will automatically generate presentation design and styling based on your idea.

In the recent past, Microsoft has opened up its mobile app ecosystem to all the platforms. Post the Windows Phone failure, the company is aggressively pushing its apps and services across iOS and Android.
