On October 30, Apple released iOS 13.2 and iPadOS 13.2 which includes new features such as Deep Fusion for iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, support for Apple’s all new AirPods Pro, over 70 new and updated Emojis etc.

Current Jailbreak Status

You can’t jailbreak iOS 13 – iOS 13.2 on your iPhone or iPad currently as jailbreak tools like Chimera and Unc0ver jailbreak don’t support the latest iOS software update yet.

You can jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch if you’re on iOS 12.4 or lower using Chimera and unc0ver jailbreak tools. It does not work with iOS 12.4.1 as Apple has patched the vulnerabilities used by the jailbreak tools in iOS 12.4.

iOS Jailbreak History

Apple has been making it difficult to jailbreak iPhones and iPads.

In the case of iOS 10, the first iOS 10 jailbreak was released on December 21. Well-known hacker Luca Todesco released a beta semi-untethered jailbreak tool for iOS 10.1 known as Yalu+mach_portal for select 64-bit iOS devices. On January 26, 2017, he released a more stable version of Yalu jailbreak for iOS 10.2, which supported all 64-bit iOS devices except for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, which is only supported by the older, more unstable version for iOS 10.1.1.

In the case of iOS 11, the first iOS 11 jailbreak, to.panda was released on December 23, 2017 by Abraham Masri. On December 26, 2017, developer Jonathan Levin released LiberiOS, a developer-only jailbreak based on the async_wake exploit by Ian Beer for iOS 11.0 to iOS 11.1.2, but it did not include Cydia. Well-known hacker and developer Coolstar finally released Electra jailbreak for iOS 11.0 – iOS 11.1.2.

Finally, in the case of iOS 12, the first iOS 12 jailbreak was released in February 2019. Former Electra team member and developer Pwn20wnd (known on Twitter as @Pwn20wnd) released the unc0ver jailbreak for iOS devices on 12.0–12.1.2.

iOS 13.2, iPadOS 13.2 Jailbreak Status

Can I jailbreak iOS 13 – iOS 13.1.3 or iPadOS 13 – iOS 13.1.3? There is currently no tool available to jailbreak them.

The good news is that jailbreak developers have already been able to jailbreak iOS 13. Developer @iBSparkes has teased Cydia running on a jailbroken build of iOS 13 beta 1 on his iPhone 8.

Luca Todesco, a renowned developer in the jailbreaking scenes and developer of the Yalu Jailbreak took to Twitter to tease a tfp0 exploit for iOS 13 beta 2. A tfp0 exploit is a kernel task port that forms the base of an iOS jailbreak as it allows developers to write to the kernel memory.

On July 16, @Pwn20wnd confirmed that Cydia works just fine on a pre-jailbroken iPhone running iOS 13.

On September 23, security researcher @iBSparkes has discovered a tfp0 exploit on his new iPhone 11/11 Pro in under 3 minutes after the device was delivered. he developers need to work on this exploit and develop it into a full-fledged jailbreak first which is a tough task. Additionally, the developers need to work on this exploit and develop it into a full-fledged jailbreak first which is a tough task. Additionally, Apple is also going to release iOS 13.1 later this week and it is not known if the same exploit will work on it or not.

On September 27, security researcher Axi0mX has released an unpatchable bootrom exploit that affects millions of iOS devices starting from the iPhone 4s to the iPhone X. Dubbed ‘checkm8,’ this public bootrom exploit works on all devices up until the iPhone X irrespective of whether they run iOS 12 or iOS 13 and makes them jailbreakable for life. The good news is that the exploit has already piqued the interest of @Pwn20wnd, Unc0ver jailbreak developer, who could start working on a tool to generate custom IPSWs with Cydia and kernel patches. He even calls it the most “powerful exploit for modern iPhones ever.”

As we reported on October 20, Luca Todesco, a renowned jailbreak developer, has teaseed a tool called checkra1n to jailbreak iOS 13 – iOS 13.1.3. The official @checkra1n Twitter handle has published a photo showing two iPod Touches with the Checkra1n app installed. We hope that it will be released soon.

As we reported on October 28, the team working on checkra1n iOS 13 jailbreak have teased Cydia and Zebra Package manager on jailbroken iOS devices, which suggests that the iOS 13 jailbreak might be just round the corner.
