An updated version of futurestore has been released that is compatible with Face ID-equipped iPhones like the iPhone X, iPhone XS, and iPhone XR. Previously, one could not use futurestore to downgrade back to an unsigned iOS firmware as it would break Face ID.

Thanks to the hard work of s0uthwes, the latest release of futurestore now works with the iPhone X and other Face ID-equipped iPhones and allows one to downgrade back to an unsigned iOS firmware. In addition to futurestore, tsssaver has also been updated to work with Face ID devices.

It is absolutely important that you first go to tsssaver and save SHSH blobs for the iOS firmware that you want to downgrade to. This will only be possible for the iOS firmware that Apple is still signing so make sure to save SHSH blobs for iOS 12.1.1 – iOS 12.1.2 as soon as possible. Even if you had previously saved SHSH blobs for your iPhone X/XS, you will need to save it again as the previous backup is invalid.

As for futurestore, the latest release (v222) has only been made available for macOS. There’s no Windows version available for download, though the code is available on Github and an advanced user or developer just needs to compile it. If you don’t know how to do it, your best bet is to get your hands on a Mac or wait until someone compiles and makes a Futurestore release for Windows available for download.

The recent spike in activity in the jailbreak community can be attributed to a potential iOS 12.1.1 jailbreak for non-A12 iPhones and iPads being on the horizon. If you are looking to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad once the iOS 12 jailbreak tool lands, make sure to save SHSH blobs for iOS 12.1.1 – iOS 12.1.2 as soon as possible.
