How to Install iOS 12 Beta for Free Without Developer Account

Apple today unveiled iOS 12 which comes with a number of new features, though the release is more about performance improvements, especially on older devices. As of now, Apple has only released the developer beta of the OS which means you will need to have a developer account if you wish to install the beta on your iPhone or iPad. Thankfully, there’s a simple trick via which you can install iOS 12 beta on your device right away.

Apple’s developer account has a yearly membership fee of $99 which is fine if you are a developer but for regular users, spending so much money just to install a developer beta makes no sense. Luckily, there’s a way to get the developer beta of iOS 12 on your iPhone or iPad right away. Here’s how.

How to Install iOS 12 Beta for Free Without Developer Account on your iPhone or iPad

Step 1: On your iPhone or iPad, head over to this link. You will have to use the ‘Slow Download’ option to download the file.

Step 2: You will be automatically redirected to ‘iOS Beta Software Profile.’  You will have to tap on Install three times before finally selecting the Reboot option.

Step 3: Once your iPhone or iPad has rebooted, head over to Settings -> General -> Software update and the iOS 12 developer beta OTA update should show up for download on your device. If not, wait for a few minutes and try again. If that still does not work, make sure to restart your iPhone or iPad again.

After the OTA is downloaded, install it like you would install any other iOS update.

If you are wondering you will receive OTA updates to future iOS 12 releases from Apple, then the answer is yes, you will automatically receive OTA updates to new iOS 12 beta releases from Apple. However, remember that iOS 12 is still in its first beta releases so its bound to have a number of stability and performance issues right now, especially with third-party apps.

If you do end up installing iOS 12 on your iPhone or iPad, drop a comment and let us know whether you are liking the new features in the OS or not.
