Control Center got a big redesign in iOS 10. Instead of jamming everything into one page, there are now different panes. And there’s a whole different pane dedicated to media playback. This means that previously obvious media controls, including AirPlay controls are now distributed between two screens. That can lead to confusion.

How to AirPlay Media
If you use something like the Amazon Prime Video or a music app that doesn’t have Apple TV support, you usually end up using AirPlay between the iOS device and the Apple TV.
Start by playing the media as you always do. If you find the “AirPlay” button in the screen or in the player than tap it.
If not, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open Control Center.
This will take you to the new, default controls pane. Swipe left to get to the Now Playing screen.
You’ll see the preview of the currently playing media there. Tap on the bottom part where it says “Now Playing on iPhone”.
This section will expand and as long as you have your Apple TV set up and nearby, you’ll see the “Apple TV” option there.
Tap on it and the media will start playing on the Apple TV.
How to AirPlay iOS Screen
The option for AirPlay Mirroring, where you can mirror your entire iOS display on your Apple TV, is still on the first screen of the Control Center. And it gets its own button now.
So after swiping up on the Control Center, tap on “AirPlay Mirroring” and select “Apple TV” from the list.
To stop the mirroring, tap the same button again.
How Do You Use Your Apple TV?
