You know what’s better than sending an emoji, a bitmoji, or a GIF reaction? Sending a picture of your actual facial reaction to the message you just got. Call me old fashioned, but it just has its own charm. If you think so as well, the new Messages app in iOS 10 just made this a lot easier to do.

How To Quickly Send a Reaction Selfie in Messages App

When you’re in a conversation in Messages app (make sure it’s an iMessage conversation but spotting the blue bubbles and the “iMessage” text in the text field) and then swipe right on the “right arrow” icon.

This will reveal a “Camera” icon.

Tap it and a little viewfinder will show up right here.

Tap the “Switch camera” button in the top-right to switch to the front-facing camera.

Tap the shutter button to take the photo.

It will show up in the text field now. You can type a message and tap the blue “up” arrow button to send it along.

Same For Sharing Screenshots and Photos

The same process makes it easy to share photos you’ve already taken. Swipe left on the viewfinder you see after tapping the “Camera” icon and you’ll see your latest photos there. Tap one to send it along. Yes, all from the keyboard.
