Apple September 9 iPhone Event invite 2015

Apple’s September 9 iPhone event kicks off in just over 24 hours from now at 10:00 am PST or 1:00 pm ET at the Graham Bell Civic Auditorium where it is widely expected to unveil the hotly anticipated iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, and most likely the next generation Apple TV.

Apple had sent out invites with a tag line ‘Hey Siri, give us a hint’ a week back. The good news is that Apple has announced that it will be live streaming the iPhone event, so you can watch it live on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows or Android device. If you need help, then you can follow the instructions below.

How to watch Apple’s iPhone event live

Apple TV

If you have Apple TV 3 or Apple TV 2 with Apple TV software 5.0.2 or later, then navigate to “Apple Events” channel with the September 9 event logo on the main menu to watch the event live on your television.

Mac

If plan to watch it on your Mac, then launch Safari browser and point it to the following url: http://www.apple.com/apple-events/september-2015/

iPad, iPhone or iPod touch

If you plan to watch it on your iPhone or iPad, then point mobile Safari to the same URL – http://www.apple.com/apple-events/september-2015/

Windows 10

For the first time, some Windows users will be able to live stream the event on their PC officially. But there’s a limitation. You can only do it if only on the Microsoft Edge browser which comes with Windows 10.

If you’re on Windows 10, then point Microsoft Edge to the following url – http://www.apple.com/apple-events/september-2015/

Android/Windows 8.1 or lower

There is a workaround to watch the live stream of the event on Windows or even on an Android device. We will update the post with the steps just before the event, so don’t forget to check this post on the day of the event.

  • Download VLC, the VideoLan media player.
    • Windows users can download the VLC app from this link.
    • Android users can download the Android app from this link.
  • Launch the VLC app.
  • Navigate to the ‘Media’ tab and select ‘Open Network Stream’.
  • In the URL field, type (or copy) the following link. This is the direct location to the stream (which is the stream Apple TV uses internally):

    http://p.events-delivery.apple.com.edgesuite.net/15pijbnaefvpoijbaefvpihb06/m3u8/atv_mvp.m3u8

If the above url doesn’t work, try this url: http://www.apple.com/apple-events/september-2015/

  • Press Play.

Please note that the live stream URL may appear broken until it is has started. Refresh the stream when the video has begun (at 10 am PDT or 1:00 pm ET) and everything should work fine.

What time will the event start
