Apple unveils A8X chip for iPad Air 2, features 40% faster CPU and more

While Apple has officially unveiled the new iPad Air 2, they’ve also talked about the internal specifications as well, including a new processor under the hood.

Apple officially unveiled the Apple A8X processor for the iPad Air 2, which marks a brand new processor for the brand new tablet, just as rumors had suggested. With the new chipset, it is a second-generation 64-bit processor, a true successor to the original A8 processor. There are 3 billion transistors inside.

The bear speeds are faster as well, including a 40% faster CPU and a 2.5x faster GPU.
