@cjori, the developer of popular jailbreak tweak Applocker, that lets users to passcode protect apps and folders, has released an update that now allows iPhone 5s users to protect apps and folders using Touch ID.

So if you’re an iPhone 5s user, you no longer need to enter the passcode to unlock a passcode protected app or folder, all you need to do is place your finger on the Home button/Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and it will unlock the folder.

The fingerprint needs to be registered with Touch ID for it to work. If you try to unlock an app or folder with a finger that hasn’t be registered with Touch ID, it does nothing, it doesn’t even give an error message, which we expect will be fixed in future updates.

The update doesn’t add any new settings for Touch ID, it just gives you an option to lock individual apps and folders with a passcode or Touch ID.

Check out the detailed video walkthrough of the updated AppLocker where we show how it works with Touch ID along with tons of other features that it offers.

Applocker is available on Cydia for $0.99. You can also checkout BioProtect, which allows iPhone 5s users to protect apps using Touch ID. It’s pretty cool to see Cydia developers extend Touch ID functionality.
