iOS 7 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch Released

Apple has just released iOS 7 – its most eagerly awaited next generation mobile operating system for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

iOS 7 comes with an all-new user interface and over 200 new features such as the Control Center, smarter multitasking, new Camera app with real-time filters and lots more. 

iOS 7 seems to be available as over the over-the air update currently.

It is available as a free upgrade for the following iOS devices:

  • iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4
  • iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad mini
  • iPod touch 5G

Before you update your iOS device with iOS 7, we strongly recommend you to check this post where we have provided tips on what you should do before upgrading.

If you have jailbroken your iPhone and cannot live without your favorite jailbreak apps and tweaks then you should avoid upgrading your iOS device to iOS 7.

You can also update your iOS device to iOS 7 using iTunes by plugging it to your computer. We’ll also be providing the direct download links as soon as they’re available.

Find out what’s new new in iOS 7:

Update 1:

The build number is 11A465, which is the same as iOS 7 GM, so if you have it installed, you don’t need to install the public iOS 7 release.

Update 2:

It looks like the update is taking time to propagate to all the servers. So please be patient. We’ll update the post with download links as soon as they’re available.

Update 3:

If you’re getting “Software Update failed”, you are not alone, it looks like Apple is having server issues due to the flood of download requests. Please try after sometime.

Update 4:

If you’re getting iOS 6.1.3 or iOS 6.1.4 is the latest update then it means the update hasn’t been propagated to the servers near your city. Please be patient, it should be available shortly.

Update 5:

Some users are reporting that the update process is getting stuck at “Preparing Update”, it is most likely related to Apple’s server issues. So please be patient, and try again after sometime.

Apple has released iOS 7.0.1 for iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.

It looks like Apple is having problems with its Activation servers. A number of readers have reported problems while activating their device after they have finished updating their device.
