How to fix your iPhone 3G or iPhone which has been iBricked due to Activation Errors

John Biggs over at TechCrunch is reporting that there could be 6 million iBricks and growing due to the iPhone activation and iPhone firmware 2.0 upgrade  issues (just a guesstimate based on the number of iPhone sold so far).

So if you are one of those unlucky ones who got an error message while activating your iPhone (or just upgrading to 2.0 software) then Gizmodo has a simple solution.

"DO NOT UNPLUG IT. That will restart the entire process. Instead, just wait. Leave your phone be and don’t close iTunes."

They have successfully activated five different iPhone 3Gs with error
screens just by letting them sit plugged in for anywhere from 10 to 15
minutes. Hopefully it will work for you, too and don’t forget to let us know in the comments.

If you haven’t updated your iPhone or iPod Touch, you are better off waiting based on this notice over at Mac Rumors:

"The
server problems extend to users who are trying to upgrade their
iPhones and iPod Touches to the latest firmware update. In fact,
readers should avoid upgrading to iPhone 2.0 until these issues are
resolved.  Until you are able to connect to the iTunes servers, your
iPhone will be left in an unusable state after the 2.0 upgrade."

So stayed here, to get more updates on the ongoing issue.
